PURPOSE: An interface apparatus and a data transmission controlling method are to improve a data transmission speed of a disk driving system and to prevent an illegal copy. CONSTITUTION: A copy preventing unit(30) outputs an authentification signal for approving a transmission request of a buffer data when it is required from a host interface unit(42) and a decoded buffer date to the host interface unit(42). A data processing unit(43) receives a host data transmitted from a host, and outputs it to a buffer memory. Also, the data processing unit outputs a buffer data latched from the buffer memory to the copy preventing unit. An interface controller(45) controls a data transmission between the buffer memory and the host interface unit(42), according to a fullness state search during an enable section of encoding signal or decoding signal of data. A micom interface unit(47) decodes encoding and decoding commands generated from a system controlling unit, generates encoding and decoding signals of an enable state, and outputs it to the interface controller.
