PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for diagnosing a voice recognizer is to diagnose an operating status of a voice recognizer depending on voices registered in the voice recognizer. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for diagnosing a voice recognizer comprises: a micom(21) for determining an operating status of the voice recognizer; a digital/analog(D/A) converter(23) for converting into analog signals a voice signal which is output from the micom and is applied to a voice output terminal(27), and a recognition voice signal; an analog/digital(A/D) converter(24) for converting into digital signals a voice-registered signal and a recognition result input through a voice input terminal(28); an output amplifying part(26) for amplifying the analog voice signal and the analog recognition voice signal which are converted by the D/A converter; and an input amplifying part(26) for amplifying the digital voice signal and the digital recognition voice signal which are converted by the A/D converter.
