PURPOSE: A separable connecting rod of a hermetic compressor is provided to couple a connecting rod with a piston and a crankshaft firmly by connecting a large diameter portion directly with an eccentric pin without using an additional sleeve. CONSTITUTION: A separable connecting rod consists of: a crankshaft connecting portion(31) connected with a crankshaft; a piston connecting portion(32) connected with a piston; and a connecting body(33) having a wedge form at the crankshaft connecting portion and a wedge groove shape at the piston connecting portion, connected by press fit for separable connection between the crankshaft connecting portion and the piston connecting portion. The small diameter portion(32) is connected with the piston. Herein, the small diameter portion is separated from the large diameter portion(31). Then the piston is inserted into a cylinder to be positioned at the top dead point. The large diameter portion is inserted into an eccentric pin of the crankshaft. Therefore, the connecting rod is coupled with the piston and the crankshaft.
