PURPOSE: An image input device is provided to be capable of surely editing images regardless of the size of a document by varying a scale setting value in accordance with the size of the document having characters and/or photographs. CONSTITUTION: A window(10) for seating a document is mounted on a case(12). An image scanning unit(14) is installed within the case(12) to be horizontally reciprocated, and is vertically and horizontally fed along X and Y axes by a feeding unit. A data converter is positioned under the feeding unit to convert electrical signals into image data. A positioning unit is mounted on the feeding unit to determine the start point of the image scanning unit(14). An image input unit(16) is connected to the data converter through a cable to input the image data transmitted from the data converter.
