PURPOSE: A treatment method of heavy metal wastewater using SRB (Sulfate Reducing Bacteria) such as Desulfovibrio, Desulfococcus, Desulfobulbus is provided. According to this method, raw wastewater, prior to inflow into the reactor (10), is mixed with biologically treated wastewater recycled from the reactor (10) in the mixing tank (20). Through this process, wastewater, though at a low pH range, is applicable to UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket) without unstable operation, and suspended solid precipitates reducing load imposed on the reactor (10). CONSTITUTION: The reactor is mainly consisted of a sand filter bed (12), a microorganism bed (13), a funnel-shaped H2S gas collector (18). The funnel-shaped H2S gas collector (18) is installed to treat H2S gas induced by SRB, and the microorganism bed (13) is acclimated at temperatures of 30 to 35°C under a condition that HRT (Hydraulic Retention Time) is 48 hrs, after seeding granular SRB in the bed.
