PURPOSE: A color CRT is provided to achieve an improved luminance by delaying luminescence time of fluorescent dots. CONSTITUTION: A color CRT comprises a panel, and a fluorescent film constituted by red, green and blue fluorescent dots deposited in a predetermined dot matrix onto an inner surface of the panel. The fluorescent dots have horizontally elongated shape where a horizontal axis corresponding to a scanning direction is extended further than a vertical axis. Thus, a color CRT with an improved luminance and after image, and reduced eye strain, can be obtained.
