PURPOSE: A subscriber modem testing device of asymmetric digital subscriber line(ADSL) is provided to easily check malfunction of a modem by checking a malfunction state of ADSL subscriber modem through a general telephone line. CONSTITUTION: The modem tester(10) is mounted between the modem(8) and the PC(5). A test pattern generator(1) of the modem tester(10) generates a specific data to determine a state of the modem(8), and repeats different ATM cells at a predetermined period. If the transceiver(2) transmits/receives ADSL data, a receiving data analyzer(3) analyzes ATM cell received from the ADSL data transceiver(2), and determines the analyzed ATM cell with a data generated from the test pattern generator(1). The modem state determining part(4) connected to PC(5) determines a modem state by an input data from the receiving data analyzer(3), and displays a determined result of the modem state determining part(4) by means of LED(6). Thereby, the subscriber modem testing device of asymmetric digital subscriber line(ADSL) easily checks a malfunction of a modem by checking a malfunction state of ADSL subscriber modem through a general telephone line.
