PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ring tone generator by which a ring tone of a mobile phone can be changed into a ring tone with originality through a simple operation. SOLUTION: The ring tone generator 10 that generates a ring tone to inform a user of the arrival of an incoming call to a mobile phone 100 is used in a state of connection to an external connection terminal 102 of the mobile phone 100. Concretely, voice information stored in a memory is reproduced by a voice synthesis LSI and outputted from a speaker as a ring tone with an incoming call signal received from the mobile phone 100. This ring tone generator 10 can change the ring tone of the mobile phone 100 into a ring tone built in the ring tone generator 10 with a simple operation of mounting the ring tone generator 10 onto the mobile phone 100. Thus, the ring tone generator 10 can produce a ring tone with originality by recording a voice source with originality to the memory in advance.
