PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a pseudo-ghost and to reduce noise by varying convergent frequency characteristics of a ghost reduction function in accordance with an RF.AGC level of a selection channel at the time of channel switching. SOLUTION: A video signal is inputted to a ghost reduction system(GRS) 5 through a video detection circuit 2 from an RF tuner 1. The video signal inputted to the GRS 5 is quantized by an AD converter 3, the quantized signal is inputted to a ghost reduction filter(GR filter) part 4 and coefficient operation of ghost reduction is performed. A voltage of the RF.AGC connected to the RF tuner 1 from the video detection circuit 2 is detected by a detection circuit 7, control of convergent frequency characteristics of the GR filter part 4 is performed by a convergent frequency characteristics control circuit 6 at the time of RF channel switching and generation of ringing components such as a pseudo-ghost is suppressed.
