PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a permeating liquid crystal from remaining in a region between the edge of a substrate and a sealing material of a liquid crystal display device by forming a liquid crystal intrusion proof material in the region between the substrate edge and the sealing material on both sides of an injection hole. SOLUTION: Input terminals 14 and display electrodes are formed from ITO(indium tin oxide) on two substrates and these substrates are laminated with a sealing material 16. A liquid crystal intrusion proof material 22 to prevent intrusion of a liquid crystal is formed in the region between the substrate edge and the sealing material 16 on both sides of an injection hole 18 which is formed by opening a part of the sealing material 16 in such a manner that the material 22 is present from the sealing material 16 to the outer edge of the substrate 12. A liquid crystal is injected into the inside of the two substrates surrounded by the sealing material 16, and the injection hole 18 is sealed with a sealing material. By forming the structure having the material 22, intrusion of the liquid crystal caused by the capillary phenomenon between the sealing material 16 and the outer edge is prevented. Thereby, corrosion of connecting electrodes connected to the display electrodes due to the water content absorbed by the intruding liquid crystal can be prevented.
