PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a mounting area so as to reduce the size of an apparatus by incorporating an optical fiber in the center of a single-head plug used in a consumer audio apparatus such as a portable MD. SOLUTION: When an optical fiber 1 is buried in the center with an existing shape (JIS C6560) maintained, transmission of an optical digital signal can be realized in addition to existing usage. In application to multi-polar plug in the same structure, a multiple electric signal and optical digital signal transmission system can be realized. While a power source is supplied from a stationary digital reproductive apparatus to a portable digital recording apparatus via an optical fiber built-in cable, dubbing based on optical digital transmission is carried out. When this connection method is used, a long-term recording in a portable apparatus driven by a dry battery or a rechargeable battery can be carried out without connecting any AC adapter or the like, and moreover, the number of cables can be decreased because the power source supplying cable concurrently serves as a cable transmitting signals.
