PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication unit that can eliminate interference between a TCM-ISDN(time compression multiplexing ISDN) and an ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber line) or between the ADSLs and to provide a method for eliminating the interference. SOLUTION: A TTR(TCM-ISDN timing reference) in its own ATU-C is delayed by S1 and a TTR to be sent to an ATU-R being a communication opposite party is adjusted by S2 to be advanced or lagged so that all interferences caused between the TCM-ISDN and the ADSL utilizing lines with the same characteristic and making communication with the same reference signal and all interferences caused between the ADSLs can be eliminated.
