PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a packaging material having good gloss and a good hue and reduced in cost by dispensing with the coating treatment with an undercoat agent, by vapor-depositing a metal on the outer surface of a polyethylene substrate film comprising a blend polymer with specific density, laminating the inner surface of the substrate film to the outer surface of a paper base material, and laminating the outermost polyethylene layer to the printed surface of the metal vapor deposition surface. SOLUTION: A metal is vapor-deposited on the outer surface of the polyethylene substrate film from a roll 1 under vacuum in a continuous metal vapor deposition apparatus 2, and the inner surface of the substrate film is superposed on the outer surface of the paper base material from a raw paper roll 4 to be pressed and heated between a heating roll 3 and an opposed roll 5 to obtain a laminate 6. The substrate film comprises a blend polymer with a density of 0.890 to 0.920 such as an ethylene/4-10 Cα-olefin copolymer prepared by using a metallocene catalyst. An outermost polyethylene layer is superposed on the ink printed surface applied to the metal vapor deposition surface of the laminate 6 by an extrusion laminator 7 to obtain a laminate 8. By this constitution, the laminate having metallic appearance in gloss, brightness and hue is obtained and additional treatment such as coating treatment with an undercoat agent or the like is unnecessary and equipment cost can be reduced. |
