PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the thickness of the carbon layer of electrodes uniform and, when a wound electric double layer capacitor is assembled by winding the carbon layer, to make the carbon layer collectively connectable to terminal members. SOLUTION: In an electric double layer capacitor which is obtained by winding a carbon layer 4 composed of activated carbon, etc., around current collecting foil 2 together with a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 1 formed on both surfaces or one surface of the layer 4, the positive and negative electrodes 1 respectively have plurality of tab sections 3 composed of parts of the foil 3 and arranged properly at practically same angular positions. The tab sections 3 have roundness at the root section 31 of the foil 2. |
