PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of reproduced sound which may be caused by the maldistribution of the frequency components of sound data at the time of compressing the data using a compression technique. SOLUTION: In the preceding stage or the post stage of a data compressing device which compresses prescribed sound data, a reduction path is provided which reduces the amount of the sound data that are to be reproduced as sound having frequencies out of an audible range at the time of reproducing the data. The path reduces the sound data of the frequencies that are out of the audible range. A data compressing device used for that purpose is provided with a data compressing section 3 which compresses prescribed sound data and an outputting section 4 which outputs the compressed sound data to the outside. A data processing section 2 is provided on the preceding stage or post stage of the section 3 to reduce the amount of the sound data that become sound having the frequencies out of the audible range during a sound data reproduction. |
