PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control pulse outputting method for realizing efficiency of a system by suppressing increase of a processing time, and reducing an ROM capacity in remote control outputting processing from a VTR to an STB. SOLUTION: Reader, custom, '0' substitute data, '1' substitute data, and key data being the basic data of a remote control output are set in an ROM table of a microcomputer, and the format of output data is decided (a step S1), and the basic data are read according to the format (a step S2), and developed to serial output data by software processing (a step S3), and the data are outputted as a remote control pulse signal by using the timer function and serial function of the microcomputer (a step S4).
