PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure smooth storage in a stock device for storing a large number of unused carriers for conveying a large quantity of fruits such as apples using a belt conveyor and at regular intervals, preventing the fruits from rolling to collide with each other during their conveyance. SOLUTION: Plural layers and rows of stock parts 32 consisting of shelf boards 32a, 32a facing each other are installed in a stock shelf 30 moving vertically. The stock shelf 30 is elevated, with a conveyor belt 78 positioned between the shelf boards 32a and 32a, so that a carrier placed on the conveyor belt 78 is transferred for storage in the form of a bridge between the shelf boards 32a and 32a. Meanwhile, the stock shelf 30 is lowered, so that the carrier between the shelf boards 32a and 32a is transferred onto the conveyor belt 78 so as to be returned to the conveying route.
