PURPOSE: A hangul word input system and method is provided to allow a user to select one among a set of words, extracted from a database, having the same first consonant and vowel if the user inputs a word with inputting a space key in place of a final consonant so that it can enhance a word input speed. CONSTITUTION: A hangul word method comprises a controller detecting a key-in from a keyboard(S20), a keyboard controller scanning a key matrix of the keyboard, transmitting a code value of the key pushed by a user, and the controller detecting if a key is input form the keyboard controller(S30), displaying the key input on a display(S40), the controller storing the individual input word in a memory(S50), determining if a space key is included in the input keys(S60), the controller regarding the displayed word as a word without a final consonant, and searching for the word in a database(S70), displaying searched words corresponding to the word without the final consonant(S80,90), and stopping a process(S100).
