PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a new structure which can efficiently draw out optical performance in a liquid crystal device provided with contrast characteristics having a distinct vision direction. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal device a transparent substrate 5 is stuck to an outside surface of a counter substrate 12 of a liquid crystal panel 10 through planes via a transparent adhesive. The outside surface 5a of the transparent substrate 5 has an inclined surface inclined with respect to the liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal panel 10 toward a bright view direction. The panel constituting body comprising the liquid crystal panel 10 and the transparent substrate 5 is housed inside a light shielding casing body 30.
