PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress shaft and surface deflection even in the case of high-speed rotation by providing a ball retention part of an annular V groove or a recessed groove on the upper surface of a stator base, and by rotatably retaining a ball by the annular V or recessed groove and the ball retention part being provided at the edge of the outer-periphery tip of a case. SOLUTION: A rotor R is energized at the side of stator base 14 as shown by an arrow A. Then, a second ball retention part 22 is bent from the outer- periphery tip of a case 19 to the outside for forming, and is provided while the second ball retention part 22 faces the annular V or recessed groove of a ball retention part 16, thus allowing a ball 17 to freely rotate on its axis and revolve in a ball passage being formed by the ball retention part 16 and the second ball retention part 22 when a spindle motor is driven for rotating a rotor R, and hence preventing shaft and surface deflection even when the spindle motor is rotated at high speed.
