PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyalkylene oxide composition having high ionic conductivity and transport number of an alkali metal ion and useful for secondary cells by including polymer fine particles having a specific electrolytic structure on the surface and a specific polymer therein. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing (A) a polymer particles having a carboxylic acid alkali metal salt on the surface and obtained by subjecting a radical polymerizable monomer (e.g. methyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate) to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a carboxylic acid alkali metal salt (e.g. lithium stearate or sodium dodecylsulfonate) with (B) a polyalkylene oxide (e.g. polyethylene oxide) so that the component A content becomes preferably 80-1 wt.%. The particle diameter of the component A is preferably 0.01-1 μm as number-average median. The weight average molecular weight of the component B is preferably 5,000-2,000,000 from the viewpoint of mechanical strength and processability. |
