PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an accurately testing apparatus of a low cost by constituting to allow a loading direction not to be decided with a load point of a repeating load as a ball joint and to obtain the load by combining it with a tensile load. SOLUTION: The constant displacement fatigue testing apparatus for giving, for example, tensile and compressing repeating loads to a plane bending test piece 7 mounted at a foundation comprises a support plate 1 of a ball joint mounted at a loading point of the piece 7, and load cells 5, 6 connected to the joint at both sides of the piece 7. The load is measured when the tensile load is operated at the piece by the joint. In the case of regulating outputs of the two cells 5, 6, when the one cell is operated, the other cell is regulated by a length regulating screw 3 so as to become zero, and fixed by a regulating nut 4. The outputs of the two cells 5, 6 are combined so that the one is positive and the other is negative, thereby obtaining an accurate load displacement curve.
