PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve energy efficiency by sufficiently cooling compressed coolant air. SOLUTION: An air conditioner comprises a compressor 21, an expander 22 and a load heat exchanger 23. They constitute a single-loop air circulation route, wherein the compressor compresses a coolant air, which is cooled in a cooler 40 and expanded in the expander 22 to be cooled further, and the cold coolant air absorbs heat from the load in the load heat exchanger 23 and cools the coolant air compressed in the compressor 21. The air conditioner is provided with a dehumidifying system 30 for dehumidifying the coolant air, before it is sucked by the compressor 21. The dehumidifying system 30 recovers a rotor member 31 with the coolant air raised in temperature in a cooling heat exchanger 23. The air conditioner is provided with a humidifying cooler 24 for supplying moisture to the coolant air, which has cooled the load in the load heat exchanger 23, to humidify and cool the coolant air and supply the same to the cooling heat exchanger 40.
