PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having an inconspicuous seam of adjacent screens and increased display quality. SOLUTION: In this display device, a phosphor screen is divided into a plurality of areas by an electron beam from a plurality of electron gun structural bodies and each area is scanned in the main scanned direction and in the sub- scanned direction. Each scanned area has an overlapped part overlapped with an adjacent-scanned area. A shadow mask 40 is provided with a plurality of effective opening areas A and B formed of a plurality of electron beam through holes corresponding to the scanned areas. Each effective opening area has superposed parts A1 and B1 formed of electron beam through hole rows 52a, 52b, 52c and 52d which correspond to the superposed parts on the phosphor screen and are passed through the electron beam and has non-superposed parts A2 and B2 formed of electron through holes 52 which correspond to the scanned areas other than the superposed parts A1 and B1 and are passed through the electron beam. The arranged pitch in the sub-scanned direction of the electron beam through holes of each superposed part is set greater than that in the sub-scanned direction of the electron beam through holes of each non-superposed part.
