PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a stable image by accurately and stably obtaining an image density at a gradation leading point in a low density region. SOLUTION: A toner pattern consisting of a plurality of toner patches is generated on the basis of a reference density correction table 21 specifying an image density output value to correct an image density input value in the case of correcting the image density of an image forming device adopting an electrophotography system, a density sensor senses the density of the toner patch, a linear interpolation equation 23 is obtained by plotting points 22 equivalent to a plurality of pixel densities in a low density region sensed by this sensor over a predetermined sensitivity, image density at a low density area less than the predetermined sensitivity of the density sensor are interpolated by using the linear interpolation equation 23, the image density output is corrected through the comparison between the reference density correction table 21 and the result of interpolation to generate a correction table 24 after the correction. Using this correction table 24 generates an actual image. |
