PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate proper map information according to a passed path and planned path by indicating a limited region map information added by search region map information to map information of a region like strip of paper extending along a set moving path. SOLUTION: By a selection key input, map information is read out of a CD-ROM and indicated on a display, a pointer is moved and start point P1, a destination point Pn and passed points P2, Pi, Pn-1, etc., are set. From the coordinates information of each point P1 to Pn and road information contained in the map information, moving path (solid line) r1 to rn-1 are set on an indication map. Then extraction widthsΔW1 toΔWn-1 of map information are set at every 2 point interval and a search regions A1 to An for obtaining map information necessary for search and moving in the region are set around the points P1 to Pn. Map information of regions like strip of papers AW1 to AWn-1 (in wave line) of extraction widthΔW1 toΔWn-1 set along paths r1 to rn-1. Adding map information of the search regions A1 to An-1 to it, limited region map information is displayed. |
