PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage by mutually welding the open edges of a pair of bottomed open box-shaped glass molded products having a specified bottom translucent surface area at a specified temperature. SOLUTION: A pair of glass molded products 11 having a bottomed open box shape and a translucent surface on the bottom is formed, and a slurry-like low-melting point sealing glass 12 is applied to the open edge of one molded product 1 and dried. The open edges of the molded products 11 are mutually butted, put in a furnace, and heated at 500 deg.C or lower to integrate the molded products by the glass 12, whereby a building glass block is constituted. The molded product 1 has a translucent surface area of 600 cm2 or more, and a vent hole is provided on the side surface of this building glass block, as occasion demands, and sealed by a moisture impermeable material. According to this, since the difference between inside and outside air pressures can be minimized, the tensile distortion caused on the outer surface can be minimized, even in case of a large-sized glass block having a large translucent surface area and a thick open edge, the sealing and integration can be satisfactorily performed, and the cracking resulted from the tensile distortion can be prevented.
