摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid storage battery capable of suppressing elongation of a positive electrode board influencing the strength of a positive electrode strap and managing well with a drop of the mechanical strength of the strap while the anti-corrosiveness is heightened by decreasing the Sb content of a strap alloy in a proper range. SOLUTION: A lead acid storage battery includes a bunch of electrode plates of such a structure that positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates are laminated one over another and the ones having the same polarity are welded together using straps, wherein the grating boards of both the positive and negative electrodes are made of lead alloy of Pb-Ca-Sn series not containing Sb, and the Sn content of the lead alloy in the positive electrode grating board is made 1.0-2.0% while the Ca content is made 0.05-0.07%, and the alloy composition of the strap consisting of lead alloy formed by the cast-on strap method is made as 1.0-2.0% Sb, 0.10-0.20% As, 0.05-0.10% Sn, and 0.01-0.03% Se.
