PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing a polyurethane highly branched in a dendritic state, capable of being carried out by using a simply obtainable raw material, especially without compounding a protecting group. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a polyurethane branched in a dendritic state or highly branched by reacting a diisocyanate and/or a polyisocyanate with a compound containing at least two groups to be reactive with isocyanate, at least one reactive substance contains a functional group having reactivity different from that of another reactive substance and a reaction condition is selected so that only fixed reactive groups are mutually reacted in each reaction process.
