PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an uneven color generated by fluctuation of contrast and brightness in plural picture components brought about due to the azimuth dependency of the optical characteristics of a liquid crystal panel in a projection type display device. SOLUTION: Plural blocks 10A, 10B, having mutually different alignment states, are constituted in an effective display region 10a of a liquid crystal panel 10 comprising an active matrix substrate, a counter substrate and a liquid crystal layer sealed in between, and are constructed so as to make a bright view direction of these blocks axially symmetric with respect to an axis of symmetry bisecting the effective display region 10a. |
