PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a stroke of and a troublesome noise in an assembly capable of adjusting a pinion. SOLUTION: Inside a housing 2 contains a tubular cylindrical bush 7 which is freely displaced angularly. The bush 7 is engaged with an angularly positioning nut 11, which also has an internal side wall eccentric to its outside surface, and the outside surface surrounds a pinion supporting part which is associated with a steering column 6 of a vehicle. Angular displacement by a change in angle of eccentricity of the bush 7 overcomes an abrasive effect of a gear tooth for having the pinion approached to a rack bar. To cancel a movement concerning assembling, a rubber ring is installed on a pinion shaft holder. |
