PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bulky composite false twist textured yarn capable of maintaining a fullness feeling, a soft feeling, deep color properties and repulsiveness and improved in bulkiness without fear of a pressing mark or shininess at the time of ironing by carrying out a false twist texturing of a specific air interlaced yarn at a prescribed false twist heat-setting temperature. SOLUTION: An air interlaced yarn such as an interlaced yarn or a Taslan (R) yarn prepared by carrying out a relaxing heat treatment of a raw yarn having 0.2-0.45 birefringence ratio (Δn) at 120-190 deg.C temperature in 2-15% relaxing ratio, providing a self-extensible polyester intermediately oriented yarn, arranging the resultant yarn as a sheath yarn, arranging a polyester-based highly shrinkable yarn having a higher shrinkage percentage in boiling water than that of the sheath yarn by >=3% as a core yarn is subjected to a false twist texturing at 100-190 deg.C false twist heat-setting temperature to produce a bulky composite false twist textured yarn having the total percentage of crimp (TC) at a low level of <=15%. Furthermore, the difference in shrinkage percentage in boiling water between the core and sheath yarns is preferably within the range of 10-30%.
