PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive ray paralleling device which is capable of paralleling the light from ordinary light sources, such as lamps and is simple in structure and an artificial rainbow generator for observation which makes it possible to obtain high illuminance and to faithfully embody the rainbows generated in the natural field by using this ray paralleling device. SOLUTION: This artificial rainbow generator uses the ray paralleling device 10 for comprising a panel having many small-diameter introducing holes which are linearly communicated with front and rear surfaces and are formed to parallel the axial directions to each other and has the light source 7 comprising a plurality of lamps 8, the ray paralleling device 10 and a mist drop screen device 4 which receives the paralleled rays and creates a mist drop screen 3 by spraying water in order to create the artificial rainbows.
