PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a coil roller by machining a wire rod of the outside diameter slightly smaller than the coil inside diameter of a cylindrical coil spring into a spiral state, letting the coil spring to pass through the spiral wire rod, and rolling a cylinder outer face and the cylinder inner face concentric with each other. SOLUTION: When a cylindrical coil spring 1 is elastically deformed and allowed to pass through a spiral wire rod 2 of the wire diameter slightly larger than the coil inside diameter and stoppers 7 are attached to both sides, the central axis of the spring 1 can be held in a spiral state so as to be formed into the spiral cylinder coil spring 1. When this is press fitted between a rod 3 and a pipe 4 accompanied with the relative rotation of the both, the spring 1 is assembled in its spirally and elastically deformed state. When the rod 3 and the pipe 4 are rotated relatively in this state, the spring 1 is rolled in the press contact state, and the rod 3 and the pipe 4 are moved relatively and linearly. Conversely, when the rod 3 and the pipe 4 are moved relatively and linearly the both are relatively rotated. The spring 1 can be thus rolled in a prescribed inclined angle and a roller can be provided at low cost.
