PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reduce the height of a magneto-electronic conversion element type pointing device without losing its operability. SOLUTION: The pointing device is provided with a cover 46 supported on the upper part of a circuit board 18 so as to be optionally oscillated around a supporting point 14 and a holder 48. Four magneto-electric conversion elements 24 are loaded on the circuit board 18. A magnet 66 is stored in the recessed part 6S of the holder 48. A leaf spring 74 is arranged between 1st and 2nd frame bodies 20, 22 and the holder 48. The plate spring 74 has a 1st part 76 to be engaged with the 1st and 2nd frame bodies 20, 22 and three 2nd parts 78 extended respectively like arcs around the supporting point 14 along the 1st part 76 and allowed to be engaged with the holder 48. The leaf spring 74 always energizes the cover 46 and the holder 48 to their initial positions by the spring force of the three 2nd parts 78 on the upper part of the circuit board 18.
