PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video server in a distributed processing system for smoothly transferring video data between a disk array and a transmission server. SOLUTION: A transmission server 102 which receives a request from a client 105 specifies a disk array 1 which stores video data designated according to a request from the client 105, and decides whether or not a session should be established for the specified disk array 1 based on resource management information 3 defined for the specified disk array 1.
