PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that attains quick completion of a transferred image and ensures small dependency on operating temperature and to obtain a color diffusion transfer photosensitive material and a color diffusion transfer film unit for the method. SOLUTION: The appearance of a color diffusion-transferred image is hastened without impairing discrimination by using a color diffusion transfer photosensitive material containing a monodisperse silver halide emulsion having 0.2-0.50μm mean grain size and a coefficient of variation of grain size of <=0.25 on the substrate. In the photosensitive material, a nondiffusible dye image forming compound which forms or releases a diffusible dye or its precursor in connection with silver development or a dye image forming compound whose diffusibility varies in connection with silver development has been combined with at least a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer.
