PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce binding of an exciting coil with respect to the magnetostriction deformation of a magnetostriction element. SOLUTION: A spacer 14, which is deformed according to the magnetostrictive deformation of a magnetostriction element 12, is closely inserted between the magnetostriction element 12 which is magnetostrictively deformed after an outside magnetic field is received and an exciting coil 13 which is cylindrically wound around this, and the relative displacement of the exciting coil 13 with respect to the magnetostriction element 12 can be permitted. Thus, the magnetostriction element 12 which is about to be deformed due to the binding of the exciting coil 13 can be prevented from being cracked or destroyed, and the stable magnetostrictive deformation and driving can be realized over a long term. Also, this is especially suitable for the use in a supermagnetostriction element or extremely supermagnetostriction element and the like, whose magnetostriction effect is high.
