PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for manufacturing and assembling a traveling-wave tube. SOLUTION: This method includes forming a hollow cylindrical barrel 22, preparing a tool 50 having a tool main body and two or more of track forming elements protruding outward from the tool main body, compulsively moving the tool 50 in a hole 26 of the barrel 22 along a vertical axis 23 of the hollow cylindrical barrel 22, forming track grooves in the inner wall of the hollow cylindrical barrel 22 by each track forming element and supporting a traveling- wave circuit assembly by a rod that is installed on the track grooves and is parallel to the vertical axis 23.
