PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device capable of improving a data transmission efficiency and reducing a seek time. SOLUTION: This storage device comprises a R/W head for reading/writing on a recording medium, a VCM(Voice Coil Meter) 12 for moving the R/W head at the time of seeking operation, and a seek command executing part 9 for outputting a VCM voltage S11 when a seek start permission signal S14 is inputted thereto from a seek timing generating part 22. The seek timing generating part 22 outputs the seek start permission signal S14 at such a timing as a seeking operation is started when the read/write operation is ended.
