PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor wherein cogging torque period is shortened, and irregularity of torque is small. SOLUTION: With respect to the position of a slot SL of a core 2 around which coils 1a, 1b, 1c are wound, the position of a slot SL of cores 3, 4 around which coils are not wound is shifted toward a motor rotating direction by setting a motor rotating shaft as a center, and the cogging torque generating period of a motor is shortened. Thereby moving precision determined by a cogging torque period is improved when this motor is used as, e.g. a driving source for moving in an optical pickup.
