PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database for designing an integrated circuit device in which data is stored at a state that it is flexibly utilized and a designing method for the integrated circuit device utilizing the database. SOLUTION: This database is provided with a VCDB(virtual core design system) 100 (VC database) as a storage layer of design data and a VCDBMS 200 (VCDB management system) as a control system. A VC cluster 300, a test vector cluster 304 and a function verifying model 320 by purpose are included in the VCDB 100. A database 402 for system verification including a shared test cruster 410 and a peripheral model cluster 420 is arranged in the VCDB 100. A function verification assisting means 500 to generate a test scenario, a function verification model by purpose and a system verification model, etc., and a VC interface synthetic means 700, etc., are arranged in the VCDBMS 200.
