PURPOSE: An apparatus for adjusting a transmitting and receiving volume of a portable telephone apparatus is provided to improve a communication voice quality by composing each amplifier in an output terminal of a microphone and an input terminal of a speaker to suitably adjusting the transmitting and receiving volume, and easily use the portable telephone apparatus as a hands-free without a specific additional apparatus by controlling an amplification factor. CONSTITUTION: A noise sensing unit(1) periodically senses a noise of an ambient environment through a noise sensing sensor using a portable telephone apparatus. A digital signal processing unit(2) outputs an amplifying control signal for performing a gain control of a transmitting and receiving volume of a microphone(6) and a speaker(7) according to a noise degree sensed in the noise sensing unit(1). A first amplifier(3) amplifies a transmitting voice analog signal inputted through the microphone(6) as a certain level according to the amplifying control signal outputted from the digital signal processing unit(2). A second am plifier(4) amplifies a receiving voice analog signal to be outputted through the speaker(7) as a certain level according to the amplifying control signal outputted from the digital signal processing unit(2). A CODEC unit(5) converts the transmitting and receiving voice analog signal into a digital signal.
