PURPOSE: A screen division drive type plasma address LCD and a drive method of the same are provided to decrease voltage drop generated from electrodes and decrease the uniformity and brightness difference of the screen. CONSTITUTION: A screen division drive type plasma address LCD comprises m cathode lines(K1-Km), anode lines divided into m left anode lines(AL1-ALm) and m right anode lines(AR1-ARm), n data lines(D1-Dn), pixels, left/right anodes(32a,32b), cathodes(34), ribs(18) and transparent electrodes(10). The anode lines(AL1-ALm) and the anode lines(AR1-ARm) are disposed to be parallel and be alternated with the cathode lines(K1-Km). The data lines(D1-Dn) cross to the anode and cathode lines. The anodes(32a,32b) are parallel with a gap(30). The anodes and cathodes are separated from adjacent discharge space through the ribs(18)
