PURPOSE:To improve restripping operation for the coated optical fiber in a stage before the fusion splicing of single/multi-unit optical fibers which are supplied from the right and left. CONSTITUTION:A 1st stripping blade 7 consisting of an upper and a lower blade is provided on the left-end side of a 1st base 1 and a 2nd base, and a 2nd stripping blade 8 is similarly provided on the right-end side of both the bases. The 1st stripping blade 7 and 2nd stripping blade 8 are provided on feed passages for the 1st coated optical fiber 3 and 2nd coated optical fiber 5. A 1st relief space 16 is provided on the left-end side of the bases 1 and 2 opposite the 2nd stripping blade 8 and a 2nd relief space part 17 is provided on the right-end side of the bases 1 and 2 opposite the 1st stripping blade 7. For example, when the coated optical fiber 3 is restripped, the coated optical fiber 3 is stripped after being inserted deeply into between the bases 1 and 2 until the bare optical fiber protrudes out after passing through the 2nd relief space part 17, so that cut chips of the bare optical fiber which have an end surface cut after being stripped do not come out of a jacket chip part. |
