It is prepared by performing continuous interaction of cobalt(II) chloride, nitrate, or sulfate with aqueous solution of alkali metal and/or ammonium carbonate and/or bicarbonate at 40-100 C (preferably 60-90 C) to form spherical basic cobalt carbonate.
