railway transport; track machinery. SUBSTANCE: proposed tie-tamping outfit 1 has tie tampers 6 installed for turning around axle 11 on tie tampers holder 12 movable in height. Tie tampers are driven in pairs opposite to each other for definite depth by drive 5. Tamping pick 8 for driving into crushed stone is mounted on end of each tamper. Pick is installed for turning around axle 10 passing square to axle 11 and is connected with turning drive 16 by means of hinge joint 25. Turning drive 16 is connected by hinge joint 27 with tie tamper 6. To set turning drive 16 in different working positions it is connected with additional drive 21 and with one of working hinge joints 27, and additional drive 21 is connected with other hinge joint 25.
