A valve assembly includes a housing (2) defining an aperture (24), a passageway (26), and a branch passage (28). The branch passage (28) extends from the aperture (24) and intersects and communicates with the passageway (26). The branch passage (28) is disposed at an angle (27) greater than 90 degrees with respect to the passageway (26). A piston (8) is disposed at least partially within the branch passage (28) and is movable from a first position to a second position. The piston (8) allows communication between the passageway (28) and the aperture (24) when the piston (8) is in the first position, and the piston (8) blocks communication between the passageway (28) and the aperture (24) when the piston (8) is in the second position. An angled seal (12) may be positioned around the piston (8).
