The regulating device is particularly of the load sensing type and is for a hydraulic pump adjustable in delivery volume. It connects to the delivery volume positioning member of the pump for regulating between maximum and minimum delivery volumes. The regulating device (12) produces a backwardly pivotiug speed of the delivery volume positioning member (4) of the pump (1) which exceeds the outwardly pivoting speed. The pump works in an open circuit, sucking pressure medium out of a tank (2), feeding it into a delivery conduit (3) for delivery to several users, eg. an excavator. The delivery volume positioning member, formed eg as an inclined disk cradle, is effectively connected to a piston and cylinder positioning device (5).
