<p>A method and apparatus for bead seating a tubeless tire onto a rim comprisin g a charging reservoir (22) having a fill/quick-release port (51), an inlet (4 2) and an outlet (97). A piston (36) divides the charging reservoir into a control section (89) and an outlet section (87). A portable tank (12) having a stored air is connected to the outlet section (87). A pressure differential across the piston keeps the piston tightly against the outlet, holding the pressurized air in the outlet section and the portable tank. Once the pressurized air in the quick-release section is released, the piston is propelled away from the outlet, thereby explosively releasing the air as a single pneumatic pulse and directed towards a unique nozzle (66) to seat the bead of the tire.</p> |
